As oestrogen drops in perimenopause and menopause, your gut microbiome loses diversity—meaning the wrong types of microbes start multiplying.

🟢 Bacteroidetes—Microbes that help break down food efficiently and prevent fat gain.

In midlife, the balance shifts:
🚨 Firmicutes increase.
🚨 Bacteroidetes decrease.
